Preservation of your products
We hope that you are happy with your ARCHITECTMADE product. Most of our products are handmade out of natural materials, which gives all of our products a unique character. With products in natural materials comes that these can change as a result of their surroundings. This is a natural process and it not due to a product defect.
Even though you might experience a slight color variation in our products over time, there are ways of preserving and revive your products making them last for generations to enjoy.
Below you will find all our good advices.
Wood is a sustainable material but also a vibrant material. This means that if you place your wooden products in a window with a lot of sunlight the color may change slightly as wood moisture content changes.
Oak Birds and Owls (natural/light color)
If the color has slightly changed, we recommend using a mix of water and hydrogen peroxide, which can be bought in most drug stores, to lighten the Bird. Use a soaked cloth and put in lightly all over the Bird (watch out for the dark part in the eyes) After you have applied the mix the wood will rise a bit. To get a smooth surface again gently sand the product with sandpaper, preferably grain 220 or finer.
To keep the dark part in the eyes dark, use “Bivoks balsam – natur”/“Beeswax balm – nature” with a cotton swap.
Smoked oak Birds and Owls (dark)
If the dark color has faded we recommend using furniture wax from time to time to keep the wood moist. In our repair shop we use “Bivoks balsam – natur” / “Beeswax balm – nature”
Oscar: As Oscar is getting older his joints/the elastics gets hardened. This can cause the elastics to break. If it happen we will happily send you a repair kit free of charge. You can require a repair kit by sending an e-mail with your request and your address to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Duck and Duckling

Teak wood: To keep the color in the wood we recommend to use a wood oil suitable for Teak wood. In our repair shop we use “Wood Oil – for indoor use”.
Laminate cleaning: Use a clean, damp cloth or sponge with a mild soap, detergent, or household cleaner to clean the surface. For stubborn stains that resist the above cleaning methods, use acetone (nail polish remover), denatured alcohol, or undiluted household bleach. Do not allow the bleach to stand on the surface for longer than 2 minutes. Rinse thoroughly with water.
These products are slightly abrasive, so excessive scrubbing or exerting too much force may damage the decorative surface.
Stainless steel, copper and brass products
To clean Gemini, Circle Bowls and Trepas we use hot water with dishwashing soap and a soft sponge. If the wax is hard to get of Gemini we recommend boiled water to soften it and then dishwashing soap to clean it completely.
